Lesson 4E – Characterizing the Context: Learning and Situation Awareness

This lesson provides tools and constructs for operators so that they can quickly make the best decisions – especially in dangerous circumstances.

Learning Objectives
  • Apply Situation Awareness (SA) to a task or activity
  • Describe the OODA loop and its applicability to SA
  • Identify some ways that OODA can be used to improve decision making under stress
  • Explain how the learning curve model can be used to determine whether improvements are being made due to training and repetition
